NV PSWDO assures food aid for COVID-19 response

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, May 4(PIA) - The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) has assured the sufficient supply of food assistance for COVID-19 affected barangays and municipalities in the province.

Flordelina Granada, PSWD officer said the P4 million-worth of Family Food Packs which were bought by the provincial government has arrived recently which will form part of the additional food stockpile of the province.

"These food packs are given upon the request of our municipalities and barangays for such assistance due to their Enhanced Community Quarantine(ECQ) status on the COVID-19 pandemic," she said.

Granada added that aside from the food stockpile, their office also has available Food for Work assistance for qualified beneficiaries.

She said their current availble food for work assistance can serve almost 1,500 families while their rice assistance is good for 6,000 families.

Granada also added that they are improving their system on food stockpiling and release of goods to maximize the quality of the food assistance to the needy Novo Vizcayanos.(MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
