The upcoming $2 million Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major event will be held as initially planned in Stockholm, tournament organizer PGL announced Friday.

PGL's confirmation comes on the heels of the Swedish government announcing that it removed all pandemic-related restrictions for esports events in the country.

The 24-team event in Sweden, however, has been moved to start on Oct. 26. It will run through Nov. 7, with the final four days for the playoffs taking place at the Avicii Arena.

PGL CEO Silviu Stone took to social media to announce one very important note for the event.

"I firmly believe the only way to bring back massive LAN events is to require complete vaccination of attending players, talent, spectators," Stone wrote on Twitter. "This will be a requirement for all upcoming PGL 2022 events."

The Major is the first CS:GO event sponsored by Valve since the StarLadder Berlin Major in September 2019. The coronavirus pandemic forced the cancellation of such events in 2020.
